How waterproof is it?
This hiking jacket defies the rain! Its waterproof 5,000 mm H2O (Schmerbers) fabric, according to the JIS 1092 standard, and its sealed seams keep you dry, under passing showers. Tested in our “Decathlon shower”, it can handle 6 mm of rain in an hour! Explore trails or strolls around town, protected and stylish.
What are Schmerbers?
Schmerbers measures the waterproofing ability of a fabric. The higher the number, the drier you stay. Our jacket displays 5,000mm H2O (Schmerbers): it can withstand the pressure exerted by a 5 m water column! What this actually means is that it protects you from rain at 60 L/m²/h for 1 hr.

Adjustable sleeves with riptab, hood that can be tightened with cords, and an eyeshade. Its long cut adapts to your body shape for the perfect fit and optimal protection.
How to measure waterproofing
3 simple methods to restore the water-repellent properties of your jacket:
- Tumble dry on a synthetic cycle for 15min
- Hairdryer: 2 blasts from 20 cm away
- Iron on a low setting without steam
Reactivate every 3 washes (with thorough rinsing) or after a dozen uses in the rain.
